Some people think that disadvantages of grading students far outweigh those of advantages in terms of encouraging students’ learn. However, in my opinion, grading is more important for students than just learning subjects for two reasons: to enhance healthy and to develop a sense of responsibility. To begin with, evaluating students with grades allows students to stay healthy. This is because if students advance their physical health, they would be able to concentrate better in class. Eventually, This will tend to lead students in positive ways, such as it makes students diligent. And plus, most of students have stressed out when their grade, in this sense, good grade will helps students to release their stressful record. This is because stress is very dangerous for students. According to a study conducted by Seoul National University of Korea in 2012, a test on mice showed that life span was shorted when they regularly underwent series of electric shocks. Interestingly, the researchers found a link between this and human beings who suffered from periodic stress. This implies that high stress levels coming from non-grading can negatively affects humans, resulting in a shorter life span. On top of that, estimating teenagers with grades plays a significant role in improving students’ a sense of responsibility. This is due to the fact that grading promotes study habits of students to faithfulness, and studying hard for recording is likely to responsible students who struggle to keep their own duties. And plus, grading settings in school is possible to create competitive surrounding with classmates, and this will effectively encourage students to learn. There is an example that between grading and non-grading students’ situation. According to a study conducted by Seoul National University of Korea in 2010, students who study for grading do better academically than their peers who do not because they know how to handle multiple task and responsibilities and can consequently manage their times well. On the whole, students who study for recording are more mature and better equipped to succeed than their peers who study subjects only for learning. In other words, It might be possible to raise a loose students, on the other hand, competitive atmosphere would bring about students studying better, fiercely. These benefits extend far outside the classroom. To sum up, students benefits more from grading system than learning which is non-grade. This attributed to the fact that it is capable of developing a sense of responsibility and improving students’ health. In this regard, I strongly agree with the statement that grading encourages students to learn for the reasons I mentioned above. |
