Some people believe that young children also have right to choose what they want so that an advertisement aiming children is proper method. I, however, aganist that children can not make a judgement over exaggerated advertisement. This is largely because children cannot diffrentiate between real and fiction. Moreover, they can be placed in dangerous situation consuming unsafty products.
To begin with, It is widely accepted that children under the age of five have not yet develop their abilty to judge advertisement whether it is true or not. When they watch the tv advertisement, they often fascinated by their marvelous and entertaing contents which are actually incredible and exaggerated things. They can not differenciate between truth and false. They accept everything they watch whitout filtering the fact. According to a study conducted by a team of researcher at Korea university, when they showed two videoclips,one is real situation while the other is fairly imaginary situation, more than 90% children under the age of five could not distinguish between reality and imaginary situation. Therefore they are too young to find out what is hidden behind the advertisements.
Furthermore, there is no gurantee about the materials in ads whether it is safe or not. Especially, snacks and food can be a serious harm to children. Few years ago, news reported that a five year-old children died because of jelly blocking his throat which was popular among children. Moreover, toys also can be a dangerous to children. There are a lot of toys advertised in tv or radio. However, most are not been tested on their safty level so it can hurt children and even drive them to death. Therefore companies should announce about their products' riskiness on advertisements.
To summarize, i contend that the regulation shold be required on advertisements aimed children. The reason is that young children have not been formed a sense of judgement. Moreover, the products on ads have possibility of danger. Therefore, I think that advertisements directly aimd children should be baned
