There might be some people who believe that learning from one’s friends is better than from their teachers. However, I personally disagree with the above idea for the two subsequent reasons. First, teachers have much more knowledge and information on many grounds. Second, supervisors have enhanced teaching skills.
To begin with, teachers have a wide range of knowledge. They can give more specific knowledge what students really should learn. By interacting with them, students can ask anytime and get what they really have to know. Let me take my personal experience as an example. When I was in high school, I had a significantly difficulty solving math problems all the time. Whenever I faced the problem that I was not able to deal with, I asked my friend how to solve it. He answered about it in his own way, but it was not helpful for me at all. Later I asked some math problems for my homeroom teacher who majored mathematics in the prominent college, and it really worked. After that, I was surely confident of solving all kinds of math problems.
On top of that, students can learn more effectively from well-trained supervisors. Most of them had to study how to teach their students more efficiently when they were in preparation for becoming a supervisor. So they are well aware of teaching skills, which peers never have. According to a recent survey conducted by the National Education Institute, overwhelmingly 80% of the respondents said that they prefer to learn from their supervisors than peers. Also, it was founded that learning from supervisors is much likely to remain in one’s mind longer. This survey clearly shows that learning from supervisors is more efficient.
To sum up, it is much better to learn from teachers because they mostly have a variety of knowledge and detailed information. Moreover, they can teach their students more effectively by using their skills. In this regard, I firmly believe that learning from teachers is better options for most students. |
