▶ Your Answer :
Some people might think that they do many things well. However, I believe that people do very few things well because they are busy doing so many different things. First of all, when people do many things, they cannot focus on any of those. In response to the increasing importance of people's concentration, many expert opinions and research statistics reinforce the idea that people tend to be distracted when they do many things simultaneously. Experts say that when people do many thing, it is difficult for them to concentrate on their works. Therefore, people tend to do other things before finishing the first thing and do the another things without finishing previous things. If this pattern repeats, people cannot focus only on one thing at a time, which makes people not to achieve any of those. For example, students who have many subjects to study have difficulty in prioritizing their subjects. Therefore, they cannot focus on one subject at a time, and it is likely that they cannot study effectively. On top of that, people are required to have many abilities while doing other things. Understanding the people at work and the potential role of unreasonable workload is necessary to substantiate that people are required to do many things at work. These days, people should have many abilities in order to survive cut-throat competition. Companies require that their employees not only do many things but also be skillful. In this condition, as they are so pressured, it is difficult for them to do all tasks well. A friend of mine, for example, who works at Samsung Electronics as a product design engineer says that to be successful worker, he should have at least five abilities, such as language skill, presentation skill and design skill. In addition, he have to endure countless documents, and make a report and a spread sheet. This exhausting workload makes it difficult for him to achieve any of those.
To sum up, I believe that that people do very few things well because they are busy doing so many different things. Consequently, the importance of my view cannot be underestimated for the reasons I mentioned above.
