No one can deny the role of television which makes people to enjoy their thier free times as well as release their stresses through entertainment TV programs (since television have invented). Although some people think that television encourages people to have conversations with friends and family others, others argue that television has destroyed communication among those people friends and family. In my perspective, I agree with the latter opinion because television disturbs our real conversations and because it reduces our chances to talk with others.
First of all, we cannot focus on the conversations with others while watching TV programs. Television obviously gives a negative effect on our real conversations because we cannot really interact with each others as watching TV program. For example, when I was a high school student I had struggled with my grade after I took final test. That night, I wanted to talk to my mother to share my thoughts and to take give an advice. However, our conversation did not work very well. This is because my mother watched television favorite program on television during conversation so that I felt worse and was disappointed to my mother my feeling got worse and dissapointed to my mother. Therefore, if we communicated with others while watching television, it is clearly ruins our conversation so that the conversation might not work.
In addition, modern people tend to spend too much time to on watching television even though it deprives a chance to communicate each other. As more and more people have/enjoy free time with television programs more and more time of their free time to watch television, they cannot help minimizing the time for are giving up time for building relationship with others. For example, when I was a undergraduate student I had have a roommate who is was the most close closest friend of mine. However, our relationship was getting worse more and more got worse because she loved watching television rather than hanging out with me. Every night, she just spent her time to watch television and for that reason I cannot could not communicate with her for that reason. Eventually, we were no longer the closest friend in the university. By spending more time on watching TV rather than socializing, many people could lose their friends or family member members.
To sum up, while television has lots of benefits, it has a detrimental effect on/to our real conversation. The main problem is that we cannot carry real conversation while watching wathcing television we cannot carry on real conversation and people spend too much time to watch it television. If we watched television for reasonable hours/time appropriate level rather than too much, it can be a good friend in our lives. |
