Some people prefer to prepare and eat meals at home. Other people would rather eat at a food stand or restaurant. Which place do you think is better? Use specific examples and reasons to explain your answer.
There are numerous restaurants where we can easily go and enjoy; Indian, Japanese, Korean cuisine, you name it. And many people enjoy dining out these days because restaurants provide them with faster and more delicious food. However, I believe that dining out has more drawbacks than advantages, whereas having meals at home is much more healthy, and it also provides the time for families to gather and enjoy.
Firstly, cooking at home is the best choice if you want safe and healthy food intake. Here is one hypothetical example: there is a chef from one restaurant who wants to get as much as profits possible from the customers. He/she would use cheap ingredients, which are not hygenic and nutrious in general. Also they can possibly add some chemical substances such as artificial colors to attract the customers. On the other hand, our mothers consider nutrition as the priority as they care about their children. Therefore, they will carefully choose the ingredients, and cook the food in the hygenic environment. Recently, melamine in the dairy products and snack food from China has been a huge social issue. Would any mother put such hazardous chemicals in their children's cookies to save money? I do not believe so.
Furthermore, having meals at home increases the time spent with families. As for me, I used to enjoy eating out with my friends at least twice or three times a week. However, this was not such a good decision as I realised that I did not have much time spending with my family since I started dining out so often. Hence I have decided not to dine out so often. Generally speaking, dinner time is the time when families gather around the table, enjoy the food and fellowship. And I think it is really important to have such time together as a family, because it will certainly impove the relationship among the family members.
For the reasons mentioned above, I presume that preparing and having meals at home is beneficial in terms of health and hygiene, as well as family relationships. Although food in the restaurants saves you time and effort, they are usually less hygenic and nutritious than home-made ones; which one should come first, the time efficiency or the health? Also, dining at home can bring families together. What to say more?
