The lecturer discusses the issue of the T-rex. On this matter, the lecturer says that T-rex could run enough to catch games, and he adds that it is ridiculus to say T-rex was not able to run. This cast doubts on the reading passage's claim that T-rex might was a scavenger because it cannot run so fast for hunting.
First, the lecturer explains that T-rex was smart to catch a prey without running around in jungles. T-rex just like other predators do, tiger, wait for prey come near and catch up suprisingly. This counters the reading passage's contention that with dense trees and other plants, hunting was not possible with T-rex's enormous size.
Second, the lecturer says that T-rex even with its thin leg, can run fast. To be specific, today there are so many animals can run fast with thin and long legs because they only touch the ground breifly to list: house, and chciken. As a result the lecturer effectively nullifies the reading passage's assertion that due to T-rex's leg feathers might not able to run.
Lastly, the lecturer clarifies that people cannot know exat body mass and distribution of muscles of T-rex. This is because in today people have only T=rex's skelection remains and this not enought to unveil the true mass with organs and muscules. Also the lecturer add that we may not able to know this forever because we cannot go back to past. This ultimately refutes the reading passage's argument that with small fraction of leg in giant size of body, T-rex could not run. |
