Opinions are divided whether governments should spend more money between expanding access to the internet and improving public transportation. Both are important, but i believe that expanding access to the internet is more beneficial.
First, people can save time because the Internet makes the distance narrow.
Second, Internet promotes communication among people by means of e-mail or internet messenger.
Above all, internet makes people free from physical distance since they can access many website of corporation. Most of the governments or company have a websites to advertising or providing extra service to people. So, people can access to these information and collect it for individual purposes.
For example, I don't need to go the library. Instead I can gather all of the information through the internet. All i need is just a several click of mouse and this is very useful when the library is closed.
In this regard, people are going to be more comfortable through the Internet.
In addition, by logging on the internet, people can communicate with friends regardless of distance. Nowadays, as internet technology develops, people are able to see their friends or family faces on live through Internet. It plays a pivotal role for people who are missing their related but don't have time to go.
Take my case as an example. When i was university student my girlfriend went to UK for studying abroad. At first, I tried to follow her but my situation was not that good to depart for UK. So, I was dissapointed that I cannot see her face anymore. However my friend introduced me MSN Messenger, and our couple really enjoy with it by watching each others face everyday. In this context, Internet promotes people's relationship on positive way.
All in all, i strongly believe that government should spend more money on expanding access to the Internet.
First, Internet makes people to save time by narrowing distance.
Second, it has a positive effect on communicating with people.
For these reasons, Internet's positive capability should not be underestimated. |
