Reading passage and professor deal with advantage and disadvantage of a group studying. The reading passage claims that the group studying has benefits such as motivation, supporting each other, and aspect of saving time. However, the professor disagrees with thesis that the group studying has several strengths with the reason to support.
First, professor mentioned that the students can have discouraging. Some students can understand their assignments, however; others can be not. Weak students cannot study alone because they can get help from others. Whereas, the reading passage assert that students can have motivation to study.
Secondly, smart students have to suffer to help other members. They have to explain and review concept to understand weak students. It can cause complains from strong students. In contrary, writer thinks that grouping studying has a benefit because of supporting each other.
Furthermore, professor says that smart people can waste time as studying in group. Although, the smart students finish their work, they have to wait until all members achieve the concepts or details of studying. Nevertheless, writer approaches the different aspect in time issue. In sum up, the professor contradicts the argument of reading passage that the grouping study has three advantages. The professor asserts the weak points because of discourage of students, suffering of smart person, and time-wasting.
