I prefer to experience by myself rather than listening one's advices from my mentors or friends. Of course I can know about something from books or people's opinions, but direct way is much better to me.
Here are the several reasons why I like to experience rather than listening. First off, direct experiences could be improved my personal point of view, thinking ability, wisdoms and so forth. I can endure some terrible or tough situation better than previous time if I got some similar situations before. For example, this is a story that I could overcome my hard time because of prior situations. When I was a high school student, the University which I wanted to enter required me to take an essay exam. Therefore I took an essay course and spent a lot of time to prepare. I improved my skill to be more logical and etc. So I could get good results. For that studying, after enter the university I also can get a good score in logic class which almost other students didn’t get it. Additionally when I write a report, the logical thinking ability is really beneficial to me.
Apparently when I hear some advices from mentors, it would be valuable. Sometimes it could be main key of solving my problem. However I think it just help me to get over my situations. It's like a lamp in the dark night. The person who should go to the destination in the black night is me, not my mentors. Even if I can get an advice, I could be lost or give up. In some way I can get over and find a solution. I can explain it for above mentioned example. To prepare the essay exam, taking class or listening comments from other students would be really useful-this is advice. Even though I took the class I get a bad score. It depends on me not others.
Someone says “I am a center of the universe”. All the things in the world depend on me. If I face with some bad situations, I could make better states or better circumstances than before. |
