With the growing number of companies around the globe, more and more workplaces are being made that require good team work. Therefore, the majority of companies try to recruit those employees who can work well in teams. However, some disagree with this "policy" by stating that the merit of working alone is far greater than that of working in group. Given the options, I have a preference for working in a team for a number of reasons. First of all, this makes the work much more fun and easy. In addition, team work can enhance one's social skills. To begin with, the existence of co-workers around itself can motivate a person to enjoy performing a task. This, in turn, makes the work much easier and more exciting. In contrast, when a person works alone, he tends to find work much more boring, thereby not allowing him to enjoy the process of working. To illustrate, when I study with my friends doing various tasks, I cannot notice time flying by. Not only does it not allow me to think about anything else, but also friends help me deal with some difficulties I may face while performing the task. As seen from this example, the process of working together with other people can be very exciting. What is more, by participating in a group work, a person can acquire fundamental skills for him to cope with the rest of the society. Today, when social skills are important than ever, working in a team can teach people valuable lessons about enhancing those skills. By performing a task together, a person can enhance his/her interpersonal relationship with the others. Specialists in the field agree that a person who can fit to working together with co-workers have more chances to succeed than those who prefer to work alone. To sum up, I would like to reiterate that working in a team has far more advantages than working alone. The rationale behind this is that team work improves one's interpersonal relationship and makes the working process much more exciting. |
