Many people argue that spending time with many people is always the best way to relieve stress. Despite of number of advantages in spending time together with friends or family, I think sometimes there is an occasion when a person has to be alone in order to relax and relieve stress. The reasons for this argument as follows:
First of all, spending time alone allows a person to have quality time and chance to enjoy tranquility. This helps people to make their unbearable stress and turbulence in their mind to disappear. To take personal example, when I was in middle school, I used to go to the mountain behind my school to have my own private time. Whenever I was angry or depressed, I climbed up the mountain and tried to go deeper and deeper into the mountain in order not to get caught by anyone. When I shouted there out of my anger, I felt all my stress was washed away with the shouting. I continued to do this until other climbers called police officer to find the source of the shout coming out of the mountain as they got frightened of my shouting. It certainly helped me to relieve my stress several times. I would have suffered from my anger for a couple of years if it were not for these private moments at the mountain...
In addition, a person may feel like spending time together is burden and uneasy sometimes. Spending time together is not always enjoyable. If you argue with your friend about trivial matter, you may get stress even more than when you are alone,. To take personal example, I had a friend who was really caring and warm-hearted. She helped me several times when I was in need. I got much support and advice from her and these cheered me up and gave willingness and inspiration to keep my life going on. However, she began to act as if she were my mom after I talked about my agonies with her several times. She told me not to do something I like saying that it was bad for me. It annoyed me a lot. What’s more, she observed my facial expression so frequently and asked whether I was upset or not whenever I showed her grim face with no intention. She stepped inside of my life so much that my source of stress became her, whom I talked with and get comfort from just several months earlier.
To conclude, the best way to relax is by spending some time alone. This is because a person can have quality time when they are alone. Moreover, spending time together can be bothersome sometimes.
