Many people think they need luck in order to succeed in their lives. One small example is that many people play lotto in order to get rich hoping the goddess of luck smiles at them. However, I am against that perspectives, thereby definitely agree that luck does not play a single role in success.
First of all, what breeds success is being active in challenging situations. Depending on luck has nothing to do with activeness since it implies great passiveness. There goes a Korean saying ‘Such a stupid bear’. It is derived from a story that a bear lies on his back facing to a persimmon tree in attempting to eat its fruits. From time to time persimmons drop, but only onto other spot not into his mouth. In this story, a lesson is heard that someone waiting for luck is as foolish as the bear is.
Also, luck cannot hold up success. It is because luck is given, people cannot ensure it to happen. A lucky punch in boxing as well as a hall in one in golf does not make players prominent enough to be ushered into the hall of fame. True successfulness for those players can only obtain by their efforts nothing to do with luck.
In conclusion, luck does not contribute to true success because success is nurtured and completed by people’s activeness and efforts. People should not wait until they seize luck, but they have to strive to be proactive in all circumstances making every effort to be competent.
