There is an argument concerning whether university education should be provided only for students with excellent academic ability. Although it is true that equal opportunities for higher education can be a solution to various problems caused by educational discrimination and severe competition for university entrance. I think that the limitation of the opportunities can bring more benefits in various aspects. I will present briefly two reasons supporting my opinion.
One reason which I support that suggestion is that admitting a small number of excellent students to university makes it possible to strongly enhance the quality of college education. Usually, if students who have not basic knowledge about their major, professor should spend a lot of time to teach basic stuffs and it can not be an effective way to raise competitive students. However, when the good students enter the university, the professor can teach something more easily than others. Through investing good students, the school and the teacher also can be focused on as intelligent student's education school or teachers'
Another reason of my opinion for my advocating of this policy lies in the fact is that this also will improve the quality of middle and high school education. If the university wants smart students for their school, their standard will be high. To enter the university, middle and high school students try to study very hard. go to school by studying hard. As they study hard, their grade will be upgrade and it can also affect the university's status. Thus, it can help improve not only the university but also middle and high school's reputation.
In summary, I am strongly convinced that giving opportunities to the excellent students for high learning only to a limited number of excellent student's can be good results in various positive effects as I mentioned above: This is because this policy concerned with of the university education will contribute to the improvement in middle and high school as well as in the university. |
