Due to the development of mass production, there are many immitation items in the world. Although they are losing their uniqueness, their price is decreasing and it makes people buy it easily. Some people claim that it is better to be more like others than to be different from others, while other disagree. However, as far as I concerned, I firmly believe it is not better to be more like others than to be different from others for several following reasons.
First of all, people tend to believe that difference gives a unique value to them. People have their own charateristic. They do not want to show themselves likes others. For example, women used to spend a lot of money to buy clothes, accessaries, perfumes and so on. They believe that these make them be unique. A recent survey conducted by the federal government showed that over 90 percent of Korean women prefer to buy limited selling clothes because they want to show their unique value. In this respect, it is clear that difference gives a unique value and success to a company which sells unique items.
Furthermore, a difference brings real success at the end. There was a men who wants to think different with others. He was kicked off from a company but he became the most successful CEO in the world. He is Steven Jobs. Most world leading telecommunication companies thought that mobile software can not make a lot of money. So they just did let their business partners make a mobile software, took most benefits from them. It made them sink into swamp of stagnation. Jobs changed contemporary business thinks and distributed his benefit to developers in App Store. He considered software developers to another CEO who used to consider as business partner. Finally, App Store was grown up to the biggest software market place, he announced App Store's sales break through 1 billion dollar at '10 WWDC on 07 June 2010.
In conclusion, I believe that it is not better to be more like others than to be different from others because a difference gives a unique value and brings real success at the end.
