No one can deny that older people call for regular exercise thanks to their physical weakness. They do have hard time when walking streets, climbing mountains, or doing chores. My view, however, is that younger people need more physical exercise due to the fact that they are in the practical age for working and studying, and physical exercise a must for mental health.
To begin with, younger people are the virtual resources who contribute to society and countries. They should constantly work and study for their country’s competitiveness. Without their contribution, their country would fail to maintain their country but collapse. Physical exercise is directly related to competitiveness. An article published in the Korea Times shows that Korean white-collar workers who have kept exercising on a regular basis lived over 10 years than those who have not worked out. The exercising workers attribute their excellent fitness to a small amount of push-ups and running. In this respect, working out is an essential part in today’s competitive society.
Moreover, physical exercise is an indispensable factor for mentality. We possess bodies but actually it is our mentality that counts when it comes to fitness. In these days, younger people easily get burdened and stressed out by a bunch of assignments, projects, and relationships between co-workers. Subtle stress can lead to a promising youth’s death. According to a research conducted in the Korean National Research center, approximately 460 healthy younger people have died of stress. The victims were so healthy that even their parents and friends never could expect their sudden death. These tragedies mainly came from low salaries, their bosses’ pressure, and bad connections with their co-workers. If they had worked out and got rid of stress, they would have maintained a happy life with their families and friends.
To summarize, physical exercise is much more significant for younger people than older people need more on the grounds that younger people are in the practical contributors for the society and physical exercise is crucial for mental health. As the old adage goes, “Many a little makes a mickle”. We should do sway with at least a bit of stress so as to maintain a happy and healthy life. |
