The issue here is whether teachers should receive their payment depending on how much students have learned or not. Although some students' parents would like to pay to the teachers according to their children performance, I firmly believe that it is not fair and there would be some shortcomings and my view can be greatly substantiated by the reasons addressed below.
First of all, teachers might concentrate their effort more on the students who perform well. In other words, teachers tend to have bias and it is sort of a discrimination. It is obvious that teachers want to earn more money; thus, if teachers payment depends on students score, teachers will pay more attention to those you are intelligent rather than students who really need teachers' attention and improvement. This will cause the huge gap between high-average students and low-average students and as the students graduate their university, high-average students will have more possibility to work in a good company and receive high payment but low-average students tend to do hard labor works and receive low payment.
Secondly, it is unfair since the students are randomly assigned to each teachers. To put it again, if the payment is different even though each teachers have studied equally and finally have become a teacher, it is very unfair. It is not a teachers job to choose students what they want, but is ramdomly assigned. Let's say that A class tend to have a lot of smarter students compared to B class, A teachers will be easier to teach the class because students are smart and will receive high amount of money. However, in case of B class, teacher will be harder to teach students and extra time would be needed to catch up the lesson and the payment would be lower than A teacher even though B teacher put more effort on students than A teacher, which is unfair.
In conclusion, if teachers receive their job payment according to students performance, it is unfair and there will be bias, which students might get hurt. Teachers should pay more attention to the students who need more help of teachers and help those students to catch up the level of smart students. Teachers should only concentrate on students and not about their payment otherwise, it will be hard for students to improve their performance. Therefore, I disagree with the statement that teachers should be paid based on how much their students learn.
