There are many examples of historical features of whose education was done by their parents. Even, there is a saying that ‘A great man always has a great mother’. Thomas Edison is an example, it is well known that he was expelled from school when he was young and was educated wholly by his mother. If his mother had refused to understand him and educate him at home, I doubt that our life nowadays would be similar to what it is now. People may argue that he was born genius and all the works he has done were the results of his exceptional brain. I disagree with that, because Edison himself said that his works were done with 99% of hard work and endurance and 1% of brain. Whether this is merely a modest comment of his, it is not for us to judge. However, one thing that I am sure of is that his modesty and his endurance are the results of his mother’s education.
People sometimes mistake education to be building up facts. However, from the case of Thomas Edison, they should realise that it is not the knowledge that makes a person to be a great man; it is the personality that makes a person a great man. And from the past cases, I come to the conclusion that ‘the parents are the best teachers’ because they decide on their children’s personality and they teach them the right way to live a life.
