There might be some people who believe that humans have a greater need for housing, industry, and farmlands than animals and that land should not be saved for endangered species. However, I personally disagree with the above idea for two subsequent reasons. First, animals are the same extinction and part of the earth. Second, monopolized humans’ housing, industry, and farmlands will deplete all the natural resources.
To begin with, animals, including endangered species have the same rights to use resources on the earth. Generally speaking, other animals or insects need exactly the same amount of food, houses, and any other things to live like humans. Of course, the way they live is different, but the important thing is that there is no evidence to tell that humans have a priority to monopoly those materials. Let me bring up my personal story as an example. When I was an elementary school student, at school, there were a lot of animals, such as chickens, dogs, and even a few endangered animals. They always shared the territory of the school freely, and nobody thought it was unusual or weird. This was because teachers said that we should share our resources with other animals as they had the same right to utilize those materials. When I was a kid, society and adults told me that we should protect animals, but when I become an adult, any of them cares about those problems.
On top of that, every natural resource will be disappeared if only people use them without caring for animals. In general, in order to live, people have to make use of many natural resources, which means they keep depleting trees, soils, oil, and water. Therefore, this situation is harmful to not only other organisms, but also humans. However, unlike them, animals use natural resources in a balanced way because they have a food structure that adjusts the number of population. In this regard, it is not true that people have a greater need for the earth’s resources, but they utilize them without that structure and a sense of balance. For instance, one day, a chairman of my elementary school said teachers to prohibit any animals from entering the school. Furthermore, he started to build useless buildings at the ground and pulled out of trees. As a result, the school became a place for only humans no other animals. In other words, it was just grey.
In a nutshell, animals have the same rights to live like humans. Second, people do not have a greater need to live, but they just exhausted all the materials on earth. For these reasons, I strongly disagree with the statement. |
