▶ Your Answer : The reading and the lecture both talk about a manned mission to Mars. The reading insists that there are several severe problems in a manned mission to Mars. However, the lecture argues that people can overcome these problems. To begin with, the reading passage claims that there is a lot of dust in the Mars so the dust can harmful for the spaceship and astronauts. In contrast, the lecture disagrees with this statement because this problem can be solved by the new technology. He says that this problem of dust can be controled by sound technology. The researchers found that this new technology can decrease the problem. Furthermore, in the reading, the author insists that the lengthy trip to Mars can cause the psychological problem to astronauts. On the contrary, the lecturer is doubt about this argument because he thinks that this issue can be managed. He says that while the astronaut is going to Mars, the astronaut can watch the teaching program from the Earth and the special counseling program recorded by therapist can be served. The final point made in the reading is that the financial burden can be another problem and there is no guarantee of receiving any immediate benefit. On the other hand, the lecture challenges this issue by contending that several countries can cover this problem. He says that if several countries do this expedition in form of collaboration, this problem will be solved. In addition, the international partnerships of Mars expedition are already exist. Thus, this problem can be solved in a long term.
