With the progression of the mobile phone, social network services be it tweeter, facebook, or Instagram has also grown. These services let us to expose our private life including where we are, what we did say, and restaurant we have visited. The celebrities who uses their Social Network usually is a good example of this. On the interview from the New York Times which interviewed some paparchy, they track the celebrities through their social network services. They can assume their daily routines through their location based on their posts, so they can get gossips about them more easily. Furthermore, they no longer need to be scared that their articles are ignored or faced on protests due to the characteristic of the SNS. The information on these media is consumed quickly, and easy to forget the details. It means that they no longer need to fill the article with facts. Because of that, they no longer need to be scared about those risks. To sum up, the mobile phone does not gives people more freedom. Rather, this has taken out these rights. This is because they let people interconnected, and lead people to leak their private information and spread gossips more quickly. From this fact, I firmly believe that the mobile phone has taken our freedom. |
