In these days, some teachers only explain how to solve tests to encourage the student to study certain subject. However, I think the best way to give the motivation to study hard for students is to explain with lifeworld experience. I have two reasons to elucidate my point. First, making interest. Second, the ultimate goal of education First, studying with the life-related story makes students more interested. Some subjects are sometimes hard to understand or make relationship with real-life experience in our life. Even students do not have enough experience to find a relationship with the outside world of the school. Naturally, students lose their interest in the classes, then some students give up to study. But, If teachers provide more life-related stories with the concept of the subject, students could be interested in the subject. Finally, students are going to study more. For example, Seoul university makes a study to watch better teaching skill by giving life-related explains. In the study, there are two groups. One group, a teacher explain the difficult concept of the science with life-related stories. Another group, a teacher just provides a concept without any explanation. At the end of the study, The former group classmates were encouraged to study science and get better accomplishment than the latter group. Second, Teaching with affecting outside of school is the main goal of education. The ultimate goal of education is not just grade, but also using their knowledge in real life. Teaching with the abstract concept will make students not be interested, and then, students could not adapt to living in real life. But, changing teaching skills with life-connection will help students to encourage. Moreover, students will find their job through the explain. For instance, I have a friend who is an economist. When she was in high school, she just ignored the economy class because she did not know the relationship with real life. However, my economy teacher tried to provide lots of stories that are connected with outside of school. My friend found out why do I have to study the economy. Finally, she made a goal to be an economist and now, she made it. To sum up, making interest and the ultimate goal of education motivate students to study more. For these reasons, I agree that giving specific life stories is the best way to encourage to study for students. |
