Recently, many people go to foreign countries for education. People believe that it can bring themselves a huge success. However, I think this trend has a negative influence on family and their child. I will explain this by giving two aspects.
To begin with, studying in a foreign country makes their family and children uneasy. In other words, it can have a negative impact on their emotions. As for family, they feel anxiety because their children are away from home. To their children, they feel lonely. My sister’s example is suitable for this. Three years ago, my sister went to Canada to enter the medical university, which was known for systematic education. However, some problems happened. My parents were afraid that my sister was left alone. They worried whether my sister ate well, and got along with their mates, and so on. Likewise, in my sister’s situation, she could not only speak English well, and but also was not a people person. For a while, she was not able to adjust to the new environment, resulting in the failure of her school life. In the end, she came back to Korea because she suffered from depression. My sister example shows that being away from home can cause a terrible outcome for family and children.
On top of that, people can get excellent education domestically. Furthermore, it can save a lot of money and time. In fact, studying in other countries requires unimaginable money that it can be a financial burden for the family. Minsu’s case, one of my friends, is a good instance of this. Five years ago, he went to America to study economics. To enter the school he wanted, the family needed ten thousand dollars a semester. Eventually, his parents decided to get a loan from a bank. However, after Minsu finished his study, he had to pay back a loan his parents borrowed. For many years, Minsu could not stop working. As a result, although Minsu settled his debts, he was not able to save up much money. Sometimes, he regretted to go to America. If he had studied in Korea, his family would not have had debts.
Of course, there are advantages to go to foreign countries for education, such as people can broaden their perspective, and learn a new language. However, from my point of view, considering an emotional problem and a financial burden, I do not think that studying abroad is unfavorable.
