▶ Your Answer :I strongly agree with the statement that technology has made children less creative that they were in the past. A few decades ago, there was no such technology compared to today. However, these days, technology can cover everything that we used to do by ourselves, therefore, it can make children to become indifferent in developing themselves and ruin their relationship, The more technology innovates, the less children develops. For instance, when teachers give writing assignment to children such as research paper, they have easy and direct access to that information by using internet, smartphones, and etc., where they can find it all at once. In the past, children had variety of resources to find the information such as newspaper, book, and more, thus they could be exposed to much experiences. However, today, children can read the book and newspaper through the internet, and all they need to do is search the information only through internet which they need and cite it on their paper. Although the process of earning information became more simple, and more direct by technology than did in the past, children are indeed decaying in their creativity. Smartphone did not exist in the past, but the rapid growth in technology has made great invention, such as Facetime, Skype, and many games that make children to use much time on it. However, by technology, reliance on the electronic devices can ruin their health. For example, smartphone releases electromagnetic waves that affect children’s health. According to the study conducted by university of Minnesota- twin cities, the electromagnetic waves exert bad influences on people’s body, and when people are exposed to them, the symptoms of diseases such as brain cancer, leucosis and etc. might show. As we all know, the immune systems of children are more vulnerable than those of adults. Thus it will more highly affect children’s health and as a result, they will spend most of their lives in hospital to cure their diseases, and not even have chances to develop their creativity. Technology in some way has made our lives better, but there are many defects especially on children’s creativity. It can be an obstacle to their development of creativity by the oversimplification in processes of earing information, and by health problems. Therefore, I agree that technology made children less creative than they were in the past. |
