Tidy rooms look so great and gives feeling of cleanliness and diligence. But do they really help students do better and lead to success? I don't agree to the idea. Students can achieve great success without tidying up their rooms. This is because students can save time and messy rooms sometimes foster creativity. To begin with, students can save a lot of time by only focusing on studying rather than spending time straightening up their rooms. Students can't help messing with their rooms because they're so busy. Even if they tidy up their rooms, it gets chaotic again just after one day. A friend of mine is a good example. We used to share a dormitory room when we were in college. When we first met in the room, I didn't like him because his desk and bed looked so disordered. I asked the reason he keeps his stuff untidy of him and he said it was to save time. As it turned out, he scored A+ in almost every subject and became a lawyer. On top of that, students with untidy rooms might prove to be more creative than students with neat rooms. They don't caught up in the rule that a room must be clean and tidy, which helps them to feel free in their rooms. According to a study conducted by Seoul National University, children with messy rooms tend to be more creative compared to those with tidy and clean rooms. The research team argued that the subject children were able to solve much more problems in a messy rooms than a tidy room. This demonstrates that children in a untidy room can achieve bigger success in the future. To sum up, students can save a lot of time by concentrating on their main work of studying rather than bothering to tidy up their rooms, and it could make them creative in solving many problems. In this regard I hold that keeping a clean and tidy room is not vert important to win success for students. |
