▶ Your Answer : Without a doubt, cars have been an essential part of our lives. There are some people who believe that people in today's world have become too dependent on automobiles, while others do not. Both sides may have their own reasons to support their views. If I had to choose one, I would say that I totally agree that we are relying on cars too much. There are several reasons and examples as follows.
First of all, most people in today's world try to have a car. The ratio of the household having an automobile is continually increasing. In addition, lots of families have more than a car, which shows how much people have relied on automobiles more than before. For example, when I was little, one of the most memorable moments was when my father purchases a new car. My friends were zealous about that because just few friends' families had a car at that time. On the other hand, we cannot find a family that does not have a car. Actually, it became a normal that each family member has a car.
Second of all, the present people drive longer than before. As people get used to driving, they reluctant to walk to even close destinations. Contrastly, past people usually walked to some places far away from their homes. And it was a norm that leaving their cars as much as possible except necessary circumstances. Let me bring up my personal story as an example. When I turned 25 years old, I got the first my car. Even I had, I barely used it. So, I averagely spent only about $50 on the gas a month. On the other hand, now I spend more than $500 per month. Recently I was shocked by this expenditure. So, I monitored my behaviors. What I found was just I used the car more. Even when I went to a mart in front of my house, I used my car unnecessarily.
In conclusion, I firmly believe that present people become too much dependent on autos. All things considered, it is my belief that my argument regarding this topic has been effectively and precisely delivered with compelling reasons mentioned above. |
