Do you agree with the following statement? It is a waste of money for the government to fund space travel or space exploration.
Parents spare no effort to invest their son and daughter's education because they may contribute to our society in the future and nobody indicates that this is a waste of money. Similarly, I think that the spending on space travel or exploration is a valuable investment even though such investment does not seem to be useful right now.
One of the remarkable perspectives is that some nations can propagate the experience or success of space travel by revealing their national force. The majority of developed countries constantly have backed funding for space because they can show off their cutting-edge technologies all over the world. The keen competition between the United States and the Soviet Union during the Cold War is a noteworthy example. The soviet union initially launched Sputnik by sending astronomers outside of the Earth while NASA in the United States also sent Amstrong to the moon firstly. In doing so, the two nations made all people notice both nation's prowess.
Additionally, curiosity for the universe is people's underlying instinctive. Every person naturally wonders about the mystery of the vast cosmos at least. Thus it is clearly not wasteful to fundraise the space expedition for the purpose of purely delving into the arcane universe. For example, due to the Vosyer-1, an unmanned spaceship that was made by funding of majority of conglomerates in the midterm of 1970s, many scientists could unveil the secret of the universe, for instance, the shape of a star on the verge of exploding a supernova, the movement of debris within the ring of Jupiter and so on, because the spaceship vividly took photos around their radius and sent them to the Earth while traveling along the universe
To sum up, I think that funding space travel or exploration is a not squander of money because many nations can boast their nation themselves, and curiosity about the universe is a human's instinctive. Actually, the position of argument that the futility of universe expedition will shrink as time goes by because already numerous developing countries are now significantly participating in the space business.
