[About Prof. Lizhong
Chen]:
Prof. Lizhong Chen is an assistant
professor in the School of EECS at Oregon State University (starting from
January 2015, http://eecs.oregonstate.edu/~chenliz). Prior to join Oregon State
University, he was a postdoctoral research associate at the University of
Southern California (USC). He received his Ph.D. in Computer Engineering from
USC and B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Zhejiang University. He is the
recipient of many honors and awards, including the Chu Kochen Award (the
highest honor in Zhejiang University), the USC PhD Achievement Award (the
highest honor for PhDs in USC) nomination, the National Scholarship from the
Ministry of Education of China, and the Chinese Government Award for
Outstanding Students Studying Abroad. He is currently a member of the IEEE
Computer Society and the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM).
[About the Ph.D.
Positions]:
Several positions are available for
bright, self-motivated, and hardworking students to conduct cutting-edge research in various areas
of computing systems. Research topics include, but not limited to,
energy-efficient multi-core processor designs at the architecture, circuit, and
application levels; hardware/software co-optimization for embedded and mobile
systems; interconnection networks for HPCs and data centers; big data and cloud
computing. While preference will be given to applicants with strong background
in computer architecture, VLSI, or programming (e.g., experience with ACM/ICPC
contests), exceptional applicants in all related areas will be considered on a
case-by-case basis.
