Various opinions may exist over the argument whether a person should
never make an important decision alone. As far as I am concerned, I am in
complete agreement with the argument. The two ideas stated below can be valid
evidence to support my view.
First of all, people can reduce possible errors when making
significant decisions together. In other words, people can do lots of mistake
when they decide something alone because people are easily shortsighted without
other’s help. By sharing the information and knowledge about the problems with
friends or colleagues, however, people are highly able to consider it
thoroughly and get highly chances to make better decisions. According to a
recent survey conducted by Stanford University, most of the surveyed
respondents who are now heads of team in companies answered that they were
strongly helped by sharing and communicating with others such as colleagues or
bosses about the problems. They also responded that without their advice, they
might not have known how to cope with the problems of the projects in the
workplace.
One top of that, making decisions with sharing the problems together
is an excellent way of improving insights and outlooks of problem handling.
Generally, people do not have to chances to broaden their perspectives when
they just decide by themselves. Thus, they can enhance their ability to decide
better ways with interacting with others who have more experience regarding
problems or know more about the issues. My experience can be used to support my
view. When I became a president of an activity club in my college, I tried to find
the ways how to manage our financial matters. However, I did not have much
information and knowledge about the finance, thus unfortunately did many errors
and bad decisions several times. Hence, as a way to handle this problem, I
tried to consult with other members of my club. Even though it took more time,
I finally could make much better right decision from their advice, and I
learned potential benefits how to be a leader in the future, and had a lot of
firsthand experience whenever I decide to do.
To sum up, I believe that my explanation can sufficiently prove the
advantages of making decisions together. Obviously, the significance of decline
of decision errors and learning insights and perspectives cannot be
overemphasized enough.
