There is ongoing debate over whether it is more important for student to study history and literature than it is fro them to study science and mathematics. Some people argue that history and literature are more important because they give us a lot of experience other people have. However, I strongly believe that it is better for student to study science and mathematics than history and literature because science and mathematics help student develop logical thinking and is mainly required subjects for getting jobs.
To begin with, science and mathematics help students raise logical thinking. In science, student have to know the reason and consequence for one phenomenon or experiments. Also, in mathematics, they should learn the process to take answers by formula when problems are given. This helps students approach logically to some problem. For example, according to the report conducted by social institute of Harvard university, student who are good at science and mathematics show high grade than those who are not when they take a test which evaluate student`s logical thinking. This result revealed science and mathematic help students think logically.
On top of that, science and mathematics is mainly required subject for having jobs. Many Jobs such as engineering and computer-connected jobs are related with the technology which are developed by science and mathematics. Thus, company requires employee that have good base on science and mathematics. According to the survey released by New York time, among thousand company that respond to the survey. Eighty percentage of companys prefer employees that are good at science and mathematics to those who are not when they hire workers. They consider those who are good at mathematics and science think and cope with tasks logically, so that they suitable to the jobs related to the technology. This reveals that science and mathematics help students find jobs
In conclusion, I definitely insist that it is more important for students to study science and mathematics than history and literature because they make students think logically and are demanded job for having jobs. Thus, It is better to increase time of science and mathematics in school.
