People disagree over the statement that an effective leader should make their workers feel that they have been a part of making a decision. I basically agree with the statement. There are three major reasons: to make effective decision and to make workers solidified.
First of all, let people feel that they are important to make decision will guarantee effective results. They might say that a competent leader could make excellent decision by his or her own superior ability. However, when it comes to draw the ‘best’ conclusion among a number of opinions, it is good for workers to know the importance of their opinions. Through feeling this, they might not only consider ‘carefully’ any matters of groups but also try to make no mistake. By doing so, the group might be able to choose best of best choice, since the more ideas, the more various and creative. As the society is getting complex, a role of leader is changed. It was only to manage group members and order them, but it is to accept their diverse opinions and apply it to his or her important decision.
Secondly, as far as motivation is concerned, leaders must make their group members know they are important to make decision. Although there are many motivations such as high wages, welfare and so on, you may not deny the importance of motivation for work itself. By feeling that their leaders pay attention to them, group members might work harder to not only for responsibility but also for compensation for their attention. In my case, when I was in college, my professor gave me important work, and he said that all forms will be decided by me. And that, I felt I am really responsible for the work. As a result, I worked enthusiastic and did my best. Also, I gave good impression to him.
