These days, preparing for food is relatively easy compare to the previous years. Some people might wonder that the reduced preparing time for the food would cause some deficiency in sharing labors and efforts when they cook something. Our ancestors shared not just labor and effort when they cook something, but they also shared the emotional relationship with their neighbors. However, for us to catch up with the quickly moving contemporaty society, the easier preparing for cooking food has to be welcomed. It is because of the time and labor saving.
Firstly, time saving for the food is a great comfort for the busy modern people. In these days, we have come up with new concept about the worth of time. Some people consider the time as money. When we get up early in the morning, the minutes of time like 10 minutes are very precious for us. If we have to 20 or 30 minutes of our time to prepare for the breakfast, it would be of our loss. We could sleep more during that time, and moreover, we would not miss the moring bus that would bring us to our workplace before too late.
Secondly, saving the labor for food would be of a great benefit for the contemporary men. In the contemporary society which with many single person residents require easier way to prepare for the food. If it takes a lot of labor and effort to prepare for the food which isdeserved for only one person, it would cause problems beyond our imagination. For example, I, as a university student, cannot spend my time for boiling rices since it is a waste of my time. If I take the benefit of the gift from our modern technology, the electric rice cooker, then I can enjoy perfectly cooked warm rice meal at 7 am by just giving little efforts to the electric rice cooker before I sleep. I would have skipped all the breakfasts if I have been living without this convenient machine.
To sum up, the traditional way of sharing labor and emotion for preparing for the food is not suitable for our fast chaning modern society. The contemporaty world is chaing rapidly, and the worth of time and labor is getting higher than ever before. If we can enjoy the same quality of food in a reduced time and with less efforts, it should be welcomed for all of the people in our society. |
