Hard work should pay something that is equivalent to his effort, however, it is not sufficient for a man to success. I do not mean to argue that luck is much more significant assets for success. Instead, I do like to argue against a person, who is innocently waiting for success, reflecting his pain repetitively. Luck defenitely has its place at the condition of success, however, the world is not slow enough to wait for the person who passively waits for the luck to come. So I strongly argue that even hard work does not guarantee someone's success entirely, there's no place to lean on except hard work.
I do want to believe that hard work pays off at last. The old phrase, Heaven helps who helps themselves, sufficiently approves my belief. However, the solid hard work, without considering the current situation and relevant background, merely brings someone a depression. The extremely austere belief toward his effort is able to make someone blind. A man has to adapt to the situation, while pushing himself to the limit. The adaptation to the world and the compromise between his ideal and his surrondings are necessary to grab the success, which he desperately wants.
Moreover, there is definitely a realm of luck, even we can hardly prove the existence of it. The existence of a realm of luck, however, cannot give us plausible explanation for degrading the men's effort to become bigger. Since we barely recognize how the luck changes the flow of our life, and when the luck eventually comes, merely standing solid without any of the firm ground never justifies our failure. Luck is also hardly sustainable. Luck vanishes quickly as it comes. Luck easily comes to the person can also run away if it finally finds that the man has no power to catch his fortune.
Even I continuously emphasize the significance of the modesty, I cannot entirely assert that hard work always pays off since I have to distinguish the harsh reality from my belief. My belief toward the importance of hard work is undeniable, however, I must admit that there is a realm of luck, which is not controllable by a man. So what we can do is, not leaning on either of the stupid hard work or the insensible luck, standing with our own foot on the firm ground of preparation.
