Being happy with a job is more important than having a high salary |
Many students are concerned abaout their jobs right after graduating school. I think the most confusing situations are where there are two options: 6 hundred thousand digit salaries versus happiness but small payment. Athough which to choose is highly dependent on the individual context, I am strongly for the happiness of jobs with my personal experiences.
To begin with, satisfaction of a job reveals much more efficienct outcomes than we anticipate. For example, in my case, after graduating university, I decided to attend insurance marketing company. Even though I had no previous knowledge on the maketing, I thought I would do better and go through difficulties anyway. But it turned out that I did not see any similarities between marketing and my faculties. In the end, I quit the job and tried to find another job. Now I am teaching English and I am really satisfied with my job. What is the most different things is, I think, the attitudes towrads work and the degree of efficiency of the work. Although teaching is more physically challenging, I hardly go to clinic to treat my small diseases like cold, fatigue etc. This also makes me concentrate on my work and improve my efficiency of my work. Sometimes, I do not feel teaching is one kind of volunteer work, not a kind of work. I think that makes a big, big difference.
Another advantage of happiness of work is the tremendous influence on our knowledge. To illustrate, after my teaching became another part of my life, I have always tried to find the more novel and interesing teachig methods related to my teaching field. Those kind of voluntary research do lead me to improved knowledge of my own field. I have never tired this in insurance marketing company. This is why I finally succeeded in my own field although I am not financially independent on loan of a bank.
Last but not least, we can not buy happiness with money. It's not so much that money is nothing when choosing specific jobs. However, happiness itself is priceless, invaluable resources of our lives. Without those resources, like other toys without batteries, we will find diffident, frustrated and incapable ourselves in the long run. Therfore, these reasons will be sufficient to support my arguement. |
