higher education should be available only to good students. |
Many people believe every student deserve fair opportunity regardless of their grades. I admit setting same start line to every student in name of democracy look just. However, I believe educationally superior students also deserve appropriate reward to their endeavors to hard study. For one, I strongly believe students of high achievements have right to demand for their discrimination with those who do not. If they do not receive their rewards they’ll be discouraged, loose momentum to progress for harder work. For example, I have won second price in English writing contest but the school didn’t consider the contest as unwarranted and didn’t allow to update the price on my career. On the consequence, I lost my enthusiasm and pursuit for prices and I couldn’t progress further for a long time. Likewise, most of the students aim their objective to benefits and expect to receive them when students reach the goal. It won’t help the students if they don’t feel they are rewarded and it is worthy to try more for it. Therefore, I think educational institutes should set noticeable filtering system to let only the hard workers to enter in the higher education. Another reason for my opinion is that we have limited resources that we can invest on education such as limited numbers of qualified teachers, or limited facilities to embrace the students. As the comprehensive study evidently requires solid background and disciplined tolerance through surmounting many obstacles, no doubt unqualified students can not comprehend the knowledge. Therefore, it will be much effective if those students relinquish the limited resources to the students who really deserve. For example, I have seen a case that even it was clear that the later student was much advanced than the former one, the conservative regime didn’t allow the later student because the capacity was full with the former student in the last. Therefore, in order to prevent this kind of loss, I believe limited resource like allowance to higher education needs to be exclusive. In conclusion, providing fair chances to all students look democratic in its surface, in fact reversely it is unfair for the hard workers. Thus, I strongly agree to limit the enter of higher education. |
