▶ Your Answer :
As the number of
people who are interested in having a better education has been increased, it
is worth discussing whether a teacher’s ability to have a good relationship
with student is more crucial than ability to educate or not. In my opinion, it is
obviously beneficial for students to have a good relationship with their
teachers than only learning. There are several reasons to support the validity of
my assertion.
First of all,
when students have a better relationship with their teachers, they can learn
well because the stronger relationship allows students to receive the teachings
of teachers without doubt. If a teacher only teaches without a good
relationship with his/her students, the students would end up giving up their
academic performance. Most students have an abundant sensibility and they want
to have a stronger relationship with their friends as well as teachers. For
example, my nephew named Tom is a high school student. Originally, he had severely
low grades in his performances, but since he met a new teacher, his grades have
improved continually. His new teacher has allowed him to have a better
relationship with him such as eating dinner with students or working out
together. As a result, most students of new teacher have respected him and
their grades have significantly improved over the short period. Therefore, teacher’s
ability about having a better relationship is more important than the ability
to educate.
In addition,
having a good relationship is more beneficial for students than learning knowledge.
This is because students learn primary social skills at their schools. For
instance, all students spend their most time late at night in their school to
enter a top-tier university. They have a lot of time with their teacher and
peers than their parents. In this situation, the influence of teachers is
powerful for students. However, if most teachers only give students teaching
related to education, students do not have a developed social skills or social
relationship. Thus, teachers should have an effort to have a stronger
relationship with their students. Through well-organized relationship with
their teachers, students can have sense of stability and their social skills can
have developed during their school day. It is a more beneficial component for
students to live in the worlds. Hence, teachers should have an effort to have a
good relationship with their students than having the ability to educate.
For these
reasons, I maintain that in teacher’s case, having a better relationship with
students is the most essential component for students than having the ability
to educate.
