In the lecture, the professor contradicts the idea that buzz marketing has negative aspects, which was explained in the reading passage. He maintains that buzz marketing is a great way of advertising products for a few reasons.
To begin with, the lecturer points out that buzzers do not cheat consumers through false information. According to the reading, since buzzers are paid for their comments on the internet by manufacturer, they are inclined to write only good recommendation for the products. However, buzzers are freely able to criticize goods or service and write bad reviews if they do not satisfy (with) the products. The pay for the reviewers is nothing but a reward for being industrial(industrious) to evaluate the products on the internet.
In addtion, the speaker asserts that buzz marketing is higly effective for every field of manufacturing. In the reading, toys for children and cars for the rich will only take the advantage of the marketing. On the other hand, the speaker gives an example of selling hot dogs which promotion were greatly helped by buzz marketing.
Last, the lecturer refutes the notion that buzz marketing is mostly short-lived. The reading explains that buzz marketing has an impact but lasts comparatively short-time compared to other method of advertising. However, the speaker argues that (the effect of) buzz marketing can be steady as one's friends or peers keep talking about certain goods or service not only on the internet but also in our(their) lives.
