It seems most curriculums of school in Korea and other countries try to stress the importance of aptitude when choosing a job. In other words, besides money, there are a lot of imperative factors, such as enjoyment of works that should be taken into account. However, this is only a 'text bookish case', which is unrealistic and impractical. In fact, money might be the most vital aspect of jobs since it is a necessity for happiness and compensation for efforts.
Money should be considered top priority in jobs as it could not be detached from ones' happiness. There are a number of people who suggest earning much money does not necessarily means happiness as talent and enjoyment of jobs are necessary. However, a lot of studies, including a survey for Economics, actually oppose the statement. For example, according to the study conducted by Economics, it has been revealed that there was a correlation between amount of money that people earn in jobs and amount of happiness they feel when they work. People who worked at low-paying jobs, estimated from 20000 to 30000 dollars, said they are not happy even though they liked they jobs due to low wage. In contrast, when it comes to people who earn relatively higher wage, estimated from 30000 to 70000 dollars, said they are quite satisfied with their lives. Therefore, it could be said money could be the most importance factor in jobs.
In addition, money is one form of compensation for hard works and time. In economics, the word 'incentive' is well used as people always make choices after thinking about the highest incentives. Thus, there would be a lot of plausible incentives in jobs including happiness or talent, but what people pursue is definitely money. This could be easily described because earning money might be the best way for people to feel accomplishment. To be more specific, suppose there is one man who works in high-paying jobs. Naturally, he has to spend his time and efforts, which could be used in other ways. However, he used those to do his work and he wants to get certain incentives for his time and efforts. In this situation, feeling accomplishments from enjoyment of jobs and feeling it from wage might fit into that category. The former one is quite elusive and abstract while the latter one is solid and absolute. Therefore, people have more chances to consider money as highest incentive. Hence, money is the money is the most important characteristic in jobs.
In conclusion, money is an important aspect in jobs as it could be directly connected with happiness and compensation for efforts and time. As a matter of fact, some people might blame those two opinions since people might live materialistic life when only pursuing money. However, there is no question that money is necessity of life. |
