It is often said that people may improve their knowledge by taking some difficult and challenging classes because they can learn more specific knowledge. However, I believe that it is not beneficial for students to take difficult classes because of being discouraged and no benefit for getting job.
To begin with, taking challenging class do not guarantee students' higher grade. This is because students who take difficult subjects rather can be discouraged due to the fact that these subjects usually require students to spend more time on studying and even do not offer a top grade to students. Therefore, even though they make more effort on these subjects they often get lower grade and they will drop out these subject. In contrast, to study some subjects that students can do well encourage students to be confidence on studying. For example, when I was in high school, I took calculate mathematics which was famous for hard for getting higher grade. However, I wanted to take this class. During the final period, even though I put all my time on studying it, I got lower grades and in turn I thought I could not doing about it. This implies that taking some subjects students can focus on is more beneficial for students' school lives.
In addition, it is more effective for students to take normal and common classes in order to easily get a job in the future. It is commonly observed that many companies today prefer students who have a higher GPA because they can assess the level of candidates' achievement in their major. Therefore, it is more helpful for students’ future to take some subjects that students can get a higher grade. According to the Ministry of Labor of Korea in 2007, more than 70 percentages of companies that hire their new employees reflect students GPA to the final call. This implies that getting higher grade by taking normal class help student to get a higher chance to enter a workforce.
In brief, in a modern society, normal subjects provide students more beneficial things such as the chance to more concentrate on studying, and more chances to get a job easily. All in all, students should take common subjects at school. (371 자) |
