After the advent of diverse mass media, we were able to watch plays or concerts in our very home. This benefited us in saving our money or not wasting time to go to the concert hall. Contrary-wise, it entailed drawbacks such as lack of concentration when watching the show on television, or not lasting in our minds. Therefore, I agree with the opinion that going to a live performance is more enjoyable than viewing it on the television.
To start off with, watching performances on television make people to get easily distracted. Television has various channels showing interesting programs that can be seen by clicking a button on the remote controller. Also, watching performances in our house will entice us to move around when bored or readily get hindered by other family members when seeing the show. On the other hand, by watching performances in the theater, people would have to seat in a fixed motion which will increase their concentration rate. Also, to not bother other people who are ardently viewing the show, they can not move around which would also profit in elevating concentration. In my experience, I watched a concert named "Myung Sung Hwang Hoo" in the theater and I was able to zealously watch the show efficiently. However, when I had the opportunity to see this play on the television, I was not able to concentrate well due to copious elements that were distracting me and felt that the show was not thrilling at all.
Secondly, live performances last for a long time. When going to the theater that holds rock concerts, we feel activeness and liveliness which enables us to recollect this memory for a long time. Conversely, when seeing shows on television, we seldom retrospect them because they are neither vigorous nor exciting. According to statistics made by York University, more than 84% of the students answered that watching live performance remains as a precious reminisce in their minds. On the contrary, less than 6% of the students stated that shows watched on tv are live or fascinating. I went to a live performance when I was a kid; it still remains in my mind due to the exciting scenes that I can not forget.
To capsulate, watching live shows not only upholds concentration, but also perpetually lasts in our memory. In the fast going society, not many people have the chance to actually go to the concert and see the live shows. It would be a good experience for many people to see a live show once in their lives. | |
