고등학교나 대학교 그룹과제 점수를 일괄평가가 좋냐 나쁘냐? |
Many students criticize the method that gives grades by giving points to all team members same. They argue that this is why there are many free-riders who are reluctant to cooperate with team members and who want to get grades without efforts. However, I believe that they have misguided beliefs, since this method teaches students how to deal with conflicts with their team members. On top of that, students can learn more diverse ideas unbiasedly. First of all, students can improve their social skills. This happens because they should persuade some students who are not likely to participate in team meetings and work in groups. In addition, students learn how to integrate their members' ideas into an logical and composed one. To illustrate this, I had team projects three months ago. At that time, my team members and I prepared for giving presentation about economy topics. However, one person did not show up in any meetings and investigate his alloted sections. This caused serious problem, as other team members were upset and asked me to expel him out of my team. Yet, I did not give up persuading him and finally I could make him to partake in our project. During preparing this, even though I was very fed up with and exhausted, I learned that social problem was too difficult and how to deal with conflicts among team members. Secondly, students can learn more broad ideas and knowledge efficiently. This results from the fact that the more students gather, the more knowledge gather. It means that many people can scrutinize much more sections than when a student investigates alone. Furthermore, students could have the chance to have broad and proportionate perspectives not biased, since they could meet a variety of ideas from many people. For example, I had team projects one year ago. My team included two foreigners who came from China and the US. They had seemingly very different ideas for capitalism, since their mother countries had not same views for it. This was the opportunities for my team members including them to encounter unique and exotic thoughts beyond their mundane ideas. During communicating with one another, we realized that not all people have same ideas. In summary, team projects are the best chance for students in that they can be accustomed to dealing with social breaks and they can broaden their perspectives. In conclusion, high schools and universities should assign more team projects for their students and give same scores to each team members. |
