Some people think that the most important aspect of a job is the money a person earns, while others do not. If I had to choose one, I would say that a job is important for people to improve their sense of responsibility and to enhance their perspectives unlike the money.
To begin with, having a job allows people to improve their sense of responsibility. Working requires many obligations such as managing time, abiding by rules and respecting others. When each obligations are fulfiiled, it is likely to bring a good result. For example, my youngest brother used to be lazy and selfish. He always went to the school and could not focus on his study because of his traits. However, he has changed little by little after he began going to work at a fast-food reataurant. He realized that his punctuality could help him do work with others more easily, while his laziness could negatively affect everyone. He became more prompt with time, completed his works better and even encouraged others to be more responsible. Without this job, he would still have been irresponsible. In this sense, the most important factor of a job is not money.
In addition, having a job enables people to broaden their perspectives. The fundamental factor is that doing a job help people to give more chances to interact with others from different backgrouds. By doing so, people can be exposed to the different lifestyles, thoughts and customs that they have never known before. Consequently, they can take a quantum leap in intellectual growth and accept diversity important in an era of globalization. From my experience, after graduating college, I began working at the electric power company. I could meet diverse people and participate a wide range conferences, workshops and meetings. As a result, I learned about a variety of unique regional cultures such as food, music and dialects. This was because many of my coworkers came from different cities in Korea and I talked and shared opinions with them. In this sense, having a job is useful to improve people's perspectives.
All things considered, I strongly believe that although the money is one of the essential factor of our life, it is difficult to say that the most important aspect of a job is the money a person earns. This is why having a job allows people not only to enhance people's sense of responsibility but also to enhance their perspectives. This is more important than the money. |
