Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Being a leader is better than being a follower. |
There is an argument that being a leader is better than being a follower. Some people say that being a follower can have easy-going mind and is more comfortable so, they want to be a follower. However, I think being a leader is much better than being a follower. I have two reasons to support my opinion: satisfaction, learning valuable skills.
Firstly, being a leader has much more satisfaction than being a follower. A leader can make the goal and the future of an organization. That gives more satisfaction than following given roads. There is a government research that people as a leader feel happier than people as a follower. A follower would have stress by a typical working and think themselves as a working machine. A leader could earn worth through setting what an organization does and seeing an achievement. Thus, being a leader is better because of satisfaction.
Secondly, a leader could learn a valuable skill: responsibility, prudent attitude. A leader makes a decision of an important matter and also takes a responsibility of that decision. So, he or she has to take prudent attitude when he or she does something as a leader. When I was in high school, I was a class representative. I made a decision about my class and took a responsibility of all class matters. That was very hard time for me, but I could learn what a leader acts and does. I could get responsibility and prudent thinking. That’s a worth memory to me. Thus, I think being a leader has more advantages than being a follower.
In summary, being a follower is comfort but being a leader has more advantages such as having more satisfaction and learning valuable skills. So, I think being a leader is far better than being a follower. |
