An ongoing debate exists over whether teachers should make certain decision in classroom or not. Regarding this controversial issue, I strongly believe that educater should not force their students to have particular conclusions through their educations. The rationale behind my thinking is that education should be neutral to their students. Also with the fixed way of thinking students are more likely to become less productive.
First of all, educations should be stand neuter. Teacher who have a plenty of time interacting with their students often confuse their own opinion and study materials. However, one of the primary function of education is to provide their students with basic knowledge which will be help them to grow up to independent adults. From my personal example, when I was in elementary school, we had an annual event to write an essay in order to show our respect to one boy, who dead because he resisted to North korean army and criticize them. We had been followed it without any hesitation or doubt, naturally having groudge against them, even before discovering that the boy we paid homage was no more than fictious character made by South Korea government.
Moreover, Students are less likely to think deeply on themeselves. This is largely because when people keep accepted knolwedge and information without critical thinking or reflections, they tend to lose their thinking abilities. Students are in immature stage so they are susceptable to everything they receive in school. So biased opinion or information would harm their potential which is supposed to be enhanced. For example, many foreign universities complained that korean students are lack of creativity although they show great grades on their study and are very resourceful. The main reason is that they had been tamed to have inflexible way of thinking to achieve high score and enter university in korea. This disharmony between inteligence and potential ability clearly shows that students are supposed to be educated to foster the avility of making desicions.
To conclude, I definately support the idea that education should not affect students' own decision. First, education should provide neutral stance. Second, students must enhance their ability of thinking on themselves. At the end of the day, own criativities and imagination would surpass the thousands of fixed opinions.
