In your country, which one has more priority, preserving land in its natural condition or developing land for housing and industry? |
Nowadays, as science technology is developed, the society is becoming more and more industrial. Therefore, there are so many controversies whether developing land for more housing and industry is beneficial. Many people believe that if the society is more scientific, their lives will be more convenient. However I don't agree with them for largily two reasons. First of all, developing land will cause a large amount of pollution and make people more painful. In addition, there will be serious gap between the cities and countrysides. I will explain this in detail.
To begin with, if a land is developed, it will bring about lots of pollution. As a land become an advanced city, many people will gathered to the place. As a result, the amount of trash will increase either. Furthermore, it is sure that there will be more cars in the land, and they will emit so much air pollutant. Not only those things, but also other pollutants such as noisy and water pollutant will take up our environment in quite large portions. It leads people to be suffered from various kinds of illness. Let me take my mother for example. Our family were lived in a very developed city. My mom often complain us that she had a hardtime with headache. However, as we moved to a countryside which is near the mountain and sea, she has recovered her health and nowadays, she never be bothered with those pain. In this sense, we can realize that more developed city has many problems regard to pollution.
Also, expanded gap between cities and countrysides will occur when more lands become industrial sites. we often see the articles about decreasing the number of people in provinces. It has become the important issue which affect the economy of whole nation. For example, last summer, I volunteered to go to farmland to help farmers who are suffered from the lack of labor. While I worked with them for a month, I felt that it is serous problem that there are too few people to work in the farmland. Actually, the farmers had worked almost all work by their own. Because the farmland is so huge, it takes every whole days to sow, harvest and take care of the crops for them. However, the cities are becoming more civilized, the youngs are tend to go to the more advanced place, so the number of young people in provinces lessons. It will make the countrysides more isolated, and the farmers will not be able to communicate with the people in other cities. This show that the more cities are developed, the larger gap between the civilized place and the place which doesn't is made.
In conclusion, I think developing land for housing and industry is never desirable. Because, a lot of pollution and the gap will rise as a social problem. Therefore there are needs to regulate developing lands. |
