It is good to take the most difficult and challenging class. Do you agree or disagree? |
It has been a controversy whether the most difficult and challenging class is good for students’ education. Because of parents’ desire to have their children go to top universities, recently, children often compelled to take too high classes. Due to the phenomenon, lots of problems have arisen. According to current studies, severe tasks let a person who is in charge of them lose their confidence. When a person confronts to solve an extremely challenging problem, they have more possibility to fail in it. As failures are accumulated and outstrip success, a person will be frustrated. This is true when it comes to me. I used to go to a cram school when I went to high school. The class I belonged to at first was the top class, which was out of my capacity. As I became worn out and lost my confidence soon, my grades began to drop. Consequently, I moved down to a lower class. As I retrieved self-esteem in the class, I went back to the top class and worked well without any problems. As you can see from my experience, severe demanding work let people down. What’s more, excessively hard classes take motivation away from students. When you face to difficult works and have no idea what to do with it, you’re easily got tired of it. In other words, you lose your interest of it. Let me take an example from my cousin. A few years ago, she seemed interested in English and quite good at it. At that time, she was 8 years old. Her mother recognized that and encouraged her to improve it. To some extent, it was good. Some day, her mother expected more from her and she took an extra class, which was for 12 years children. She got burnt out and told her mother, but her mother persuaded her to keep doing it. After all, she got frustrated and quitted. Since then, she has lost the attraction of English. To conclude, it seems to me the idea just effect on bad results since the challenging class takes not only one’s confidence, but also interest. |
