▶ Your Answer : There is a controversial issue on whether job has a greater
effect on people’s overall happiness than the social life does. I think both
have fairly important impacts on people’s happiness, but if forced to choose one
over another, my stance is in line with the former, jobs. To begin with, having a job means you are earning
money. Money, as we know, affects nearly each and every aspects of our life and
ultimately has a significant impact on our overall happiness. Without money, we
could almost do nothing at all. Today’s capitalist society is infiltrated by money
in all aspects, it includes education, defense, government’s funds, ordinary
people’s life, and so on. We cannot
refute the fact that money plays a really important role in our society. It just
likes blood in our human body. It ships all nutrients to every parts of our
body, letting our body absorb nutrients. Also, it connects every parts of our
body, letting our body behaves as a whole. Without blood, we just cannot live. Money
is the blood of our society and our daily lives. If you have a healthy and rich
blood, you can live a healthy and rich life. It goes the same to our ordinary
people's life. If we have money, we can live as a normal person, but if you don’t have
money, you are very likely to fall behind and become loser. So what I mean is that only having a
job can let you earn money. There was a research conducted by Chicago university,
which aims to show that how a job affects ordinary people’s overall happiness. The
result was so surprised. From the survey, it showed that among people who did
not have an occupation, there was no one showed that he is happy. On the other hand,
however, almost more than 90 % of people who have jobs showed that they
satisfied with their current life. By looking this research, we can easily
conclude that jobs indeed play a very important role on our overall happiness.
In addition, jobs let you have a regular
life-time, which means it enables you to have a healthy life style. It keeps
you to have a regular working hours in daily life. Keeping a regular hours in
daily life also plays an important role on our overall happiness. Just like the day and the night,
our life should be periodic. We create our new lives from the periodic works. Also,
I think jobs are a kind of things letting you make new things and finally make
money for you. Instead, our social life just makes us relax. Our main goal is
to achieve something new through our jobs. That is what we need to pursue. In this sense,
therefore, I believe your jobs has a greater impact on our overall happiness
than the social life does.
All in all, I believe that jobs have bigger impact than our social life on
our overall happiness. There is nothing in my mind cast any doubt on the given
statement. |
