eating at home or at food stands or restaurants? |
I know a friend who rarely eats at home. Their family prefers to eat out at restaurants or fast food places rather than eating home-made food. However my family does not eat out unless it's a special occasion. Since I have been taught this way in my family, I disapprove eating out for several reasons. The main reason is that food that is served at restaurants and food stands are not always nutritious or sanitary. To make the food taste good and look delicious, the cooks and the owners of the restaurants usually put artificial flavor and color in some of the food. Also, there may be too much grease or salt in the food, which can make the food tasty but can be bring no positive efects to your health. The second reason I like eating at home is because I can save more money that way. This does not apply to food stands, which sell very cheap food, but in the case of restaurants, the food is more expensive than cooking my own meal at home. In restaurants, fee for service is also included in your bill so it is usually more pricey. Buying ingredients from the supermarket and making your own food is more economical beacuse you can always keep the leftover ingredients in the refrigerator and use them later on. The last and most important reason I think eating at home is better is because you can enjoy time with yout family while eating meals together. When all the family is seated around the table and are sharing some delicious food that my mother has generouslly prepared, family members seem to grow more close to each other and are at a very relaxed state. Dinner time with family is a very important time in the day because I don't see much of my family during the day so meal time is the best time to tell the news of the day or make announcements. Eating out can be more convenient because you can save a lot of time and energy that takes to prepare a meal at home. However, I think that the disadvantages far weigh out the advantages of eating out at food stands or restaurants. |
