티비 뉴스냐. 신문기사냐? |
There might be various opinions and perspectives between the two choices in terms of the reliability of media. It would be useless we focus on the truth or independence without power, since both of them are ready-made media through the process of fixing and reconstructing content. However, with that being said, I would pose on the opinion that newspaper articles are more reliable for the following two reasons. First, TV is for everyone while newspapers are there for readers who are on certain intellectual level. TV media have to cover various people and should be tailored to be suit for everyone. Imagine you are sitting on the table having dinner with your family watching news on TV. There are not much concentration rather relaxation. However, a newspaper article is a totally different story because reading an article is an activity that requires a lot more of logical thinking and effort. In that sense, newspaper articles are relatively in-depth compare to TV reports in the point of receiving information. Second point exists on time. Clearly, there is limited amount of time about two or three hours for the prime time news on TV every evening. In this case more luring issues to drag people to sit in front of TV are more important. Therefore, in reality, giving precise and deep information is not the key of TV report but sexy and shocking information is; on the other hand, news paper’s one cycle of transmitting information is longer than that of TV reports, authors have to put more effort to make articles a day before and, the next day, readers put more attention to read information carefully. |
