Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? A zoo has no useful purpose. Use specific reasons and examples to explain your answer. |
Regarding the issue: whether a zoo has a useful purpose or not, each person holds different points of view. Some people claim that it (what is it?) a zoo has overwhelming benefits both to animals and to people, while others argue that it is cruel to keep animals in cages. As far as I’m concerned, I’m in the favor of the idea that a zoo has many disadvantageous purposes. Like human beings, animals have their unique styles of living. Notwithstanding this fact, people invade (present tense) their lifestyles by preventing the animals from living in their natual habitats. For example, animals maintain their living by searching for food by themselves. However, by keeping them behind bars, the animals can only eat what the zoo keepers provide them with and cannot run around freely like they did in the wilds. Thus, the animals become stressed out and depressed. It seems like that a lot of people consider(present tense) the zoo as a safe place from hunters. They think that the zoo provides the animals with a comfortable and clean place to live in. However, people are soon or later disappointed to find out that it is not what they think it would be. It is even worse than where the animals used to live. If people truly cared about the animals, they should come up with other efficient ideas as to how to protect and keep the animals safe rather than current treatments which involve confining them in filthy cages. Aside from all these, a zoo provides children with a chance to experience various animals for real. Yet, because the animals are kept in cages, most of them just stand where they are or even sleep which prevents children from observing them. Then the children, with a pure hope to experience and learn about the daily life of the animals cannot do anything but go back home with nothing in return. To sum up, although the zoo holds many benefits among animals and people, its drawbacks cannot be ignored. People should not only think of their merits but also consider in shoes of the animals being caged from their wildlifes. I think that if people truly thought of the animals, the best way for animals to live a happy life is to leave them in their natural habitats, not behind the bars at zoos.
Comment: good... what I did mainly in your essay is just turning your awkward sentences into legible sentences and fixing a few errors. Supporting ideas are good and well-explained. I am sure you will achieve what you want: an approval from foreign language high schools... |
